In the spring of 2026, we’re going to treat our hearts and bodies like flower beds (or, for those with a studio apartment, flower pots) that slowly thaw as the air warms up in Montreal.
For solo dates —solo outings and activities—that feel good and help us snap out of our winter slumber, we have a few ideas for April 2026.
For romantics… have tea at Maison Rose in Hudson

We recommend stoppingby Maison Rose for tea, which looks like it came straight out of an episode ofGilmore Girls.
La Maison Rose is in Hudson, a very pretty village a 55-minute drive from downtown Montreal.
For the active types… Yoga Brunch at Bota Bota Spa

To loosen up your muscles and (finally) breathe in the fresh spring air, we recommend a Yoga Brunch at the Bota Bota water spa.
Bota Bota offers “Yoga Brunch” on Sundays: a vinyasa class open to all with Alexandra Messier, brunch at La Traversée restaurant, and two hours of access to the spa boat’s water circuit. Next available date: April 19, 2026; price: $135 + tax.
For those who want to breathe… Breathwork with Sam at the Together Club

A Tuesday morning is the perfect time to enter a deep meditative state. It’s even better in a group… The 45-minute session will be conducted in English and will focus on deep breathing.
This is one of the many activities offered by the Together Club. There’s really nothing moreawkward thanmodern dating—the apps, the “what do you do for a living? And do you like it?” questionnaires, theblind dates, the mountain of conflicting advice.Fortunately, there’s an alternative to these horrors—theTogether Club.
For book lovers… Sommelier Evenings at Joie de Livres

To rekindle our interests—and read less depressing books now that the sun is slowly returning to Montreal—we’re spending a Wednesday evening at the Joie de Livres bookstore.
Literary workshop/event at the Joie de Livres bookstore-café on Wednesday evenings starting at 5:30 p.m.; food or drink purchase required, special offers on wine and platters, drinks starting at $5. 25 spots available, first come, first served.
For the creative types… an Art Buffet with Dine & Dish

To rediscover the joy of braiding scoubidous in the park or making your own seashell necklaces in the sunshine, we recommend stopping by the Buffet d’Art at Dine & Dish and Dr. Lemco’s Creative Club.
