The mercury has plummeted and the streets of Montreal are sticky with a mixture of rain and crushed leaves. We’ve dug out our (vegan) leather trench coats, Sorrento and Vienna caps (summer souvenirs) and umbrellas, and frankly, meeting someone under fifteen layers of clothing is starting to get complicated.
It’s cuffing season, the season when we pair up to spend the long autumn and winter months under the comforter watching movies glued tightly to our personal heating unit. For the more independent among us, it’s a season that changes little or nothing – but even cynics are allowed to fall in love.
Now that that’s said, there’s really nothing more embarrassing than modern dating – the apps, the “what do you do for a living? And do you like it?”, blind dates, the mountain of disparate advice. Fortunately, there’s an alternative to these horrors – the Together Club social club .
What’s slow dating?
We know, slow dating is an Anglicism-but we speak Franglais/Frenglish in Montreal, so it should be understandable to most of the city. It means a date that happens slowly, more organically than speed dating or the serial dating of dating apps.
For Together Club, it means organized events that encourage us to leave our phones at the bottom of our bags and meet in a pressure-free context – in a group, so that our brains and emotions can rest and we can fall in love – or just make friends – for real and not just in the digital world.
A social club for all romantics
With a desire to offer activities that will appeal to everyone, Together Club is a true social club where you can participate whenever it suits you.
Organized activities include;
- Slow Sunday, long Sunday afternoons in cool , cozy cafés
- Connexions Culture, cultural outings (theater)
- Food Friends, dinner meetings
- Meet & Move, sports classes
- Meet & Make, arts and crafts workshops
- Meet & Play, tournaments (for the more competitive among us), e.g. chess
Here’s the Together Club calendar for November 2025;
The events organized are also dedicated to everyone’s preferences; straight, or queer, by age group or without limits. It’s a real safe space for romantics – those who deserve to meet people for real, without anxiety or pressure.
