It’s hot—very, very hot—this week in Montreal, and it makes us want to dip our toes in the sand and start working very seriously on our tan. There’s a vacation vibe in the city streets, and for a day at the beach, we head to the Quai de l’Horloge.
The beach at Quai de l’Horloge, at the end of Montreal’s Old Port, is covered in fine sand and features lounge chairs, blue Adirondack chairs (the color of the river water), and umbrellas for reading a book in the cool shade. The breeze from the St. Lawrence River also makes it one of the best places to cool off during the long, sweltering days of the Montreal summer,
The Quai de l’Horloge beach
The Quai de l’Horloge beach feels like the tropics, with misters, food trucks, cocktails, and white sand. Unfortunately, you can’t swim there, but you can still cool off.

For the beach opening on Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Mazorca taco restaurant is officially celebrating its new location at Quai de l’Horloge Beach with a DJ set by DJ DEAF, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
