Finally! The first long weekend of spring! For the past few days, Montrealers have been feeling somewhat desperate due to heavy downpours of large snowflakes that are turning the city into a sort of “winter wonderland”—which is really not charming at all after the official arrival of spring on March 20, 2026.
Fortunately, and despite a spring that’s arriving far too slowly, it looks like we’ll be able to enjoy the first blooms and the first major snowmelt of the season over the Easter long weekend.
Weather Forecast – Easter Long Weekend 2026
It’s going to rain, there will be a little sun, and the egg hunt will take place in the wet grass… In addition to flowers and chocolate bunnies, we’ll pack some tea and milk in our wicker basket to spend the weekend cozy and warm.
On Friday, April 3, it will be sunny and 3 degrees Celsius (but the wind chill will make it feel like zero). Humidity will be 51%, and at night, it will be -3 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, April 4, it will be 5 degrees Celsius with bright sunshine—and we’ll get 13 hours of sunshine during the day. There won’t be much wind, and the skies will cloud over in the evening as the temperature drops to -1 degree Celsius.
On Sunday, April 5, it will be 8 degrees Celsius, but it will rain (lightly) all day. It will be the day to break out your rain boots and little basket and go play outside in the puddles.
On Monday, April 6, it will be 9 degrees Celsius and it will rain all day; nearly 5 mm of precipitation is expected. It will be very humid: humidity will rise from 57% to 86% in the evening. In addition to boots, we recommend a poncho and hot tea when you get home, to round out the weekend nicely.
