Yes, we know – we don’t want summer to end either. But, no matter what we do, the leaves will turn red on the trees, the wind will freshen and – we’ve heard – the snow will fall for the first time on Halloween.
So, when in doubt, we prefer to embrace the season -the spooky season- in all its glory. Tour Montreal’s haunted bars, corn mazes, apple and pumpkin patch weekends… and, of course, a healthy dose of horror movies!
Between September 5 and November 7, Cinéma du Parc’s latest cycle of midnight movies presents 7 horror films. These are horror classics and films about creatures in all their forms…
Midnight at the Park and CREATURES
“The CREATURES theme was chosen by the programming team to highlight the diversity of horrific figures: from the possessed body to the mutant creature, from the technological spectre to the romantic vampire. This journey shows that horror cinema doesn’t just scare people – it questions our times, our bodies and our beliefs. These creatures become powerful metaphors for understanding our world and its disturbances.
– Jean-François Lamarche, Programming Director

The 7 films chosen by Cinéma du Parc for this midnight cinema cycle take the word CREATURE in its broadest sense. There will be psychopaths, demons, creature features, zombies…
There’s something for everyone, and we wouldn’t recommend every film for a first date – unless you’re a bit freaky deaky.
For the brave, we recommend getting tickets as soon as possible to see Bram Stoker’s Dracula on Halloween night – an excellent date movie (perhaps not the first).
