In Quebec, apples are more than a product, they’re a lifestyle. We eat apples all year round in Montreal –bags and bags of them. That’s because the region is covered with orchards and, of course, we have some of the best apples in the world. We’d trade our kingdom for a red delicious.
And Quebec’s apple capital is Frelighsburg, a 1h20-minute drive from downtown Montreal.
It’s the perfect place for a holiday market – hilly, pastoral in a way that you can’t manufacture in big-city Christmas markets, charming. We’ll be spending the weekend of December 13 and 14, 2025…
Local produce, cider and a little Christmas magic
The Frelighsburg market isn’t the biggest or the loudest of Quebec’s holiday markets. But it’s perhaps the most authentic.
If we miss our childhood countryside, this village market is the place to be in December; meat pies, cretons and all the Quebec holiday classics will be there. We won’t forget a big basket, of course.

We don’t yet have the full list of exhibitors at the 2025 Frelighsburg Christmas Market, but if you take a look at previous editions, you’ll be able to store for everything you’ll be drinking this holiday season.
In the “market” part of this Christmas market, we’ll be able to store the products of Val Caudalies vineyard for our local wines and ciders to drink or give as gifts this Christmas.
We’ll also be able to pack our baskets with Asian vegetables grown in Quebec at Rizen Farm for our sides to accompany the turkey on December 25.
Of course, we’ll also be drinking mulled wine and cider on site, as well as hot chocolate for the kids, and grabbing a bite to eat before heading back to Montreal…
