The beginning of 2026 is going to be icy and dark, like all winters. But it’s winter, so we won’t be creaking our knees because we’re about to take up yoga, will we?
For a gentle start to yoga, or to join a new class or studio this year – and our favourites are here…
Luna Yoga – for the more spiritual

The Luna Yoga studio, in Montreal’s charming Old Port, gives the impression of a spiritual retreat in the 70s .
The calm hippie feel, the green plants filtering the sunlight and the gentle voices of the yogis transform a yoga class into a timeless experience.
For the highly stressed, for those afraid of doing pilates and for those who want to try mindfulness meditation in 2026…
Right now, Luna Yoga is offering a $49 introductory package with 1 month’s unlimited yoga (access to the studio and classes).Where? Luna Yoga Studio, 231 Rue St-Paul Ouest Suite 200,

Idolem Hot Yoga – for the hot ones

For those who don’t take well to the cold of winter, who want to slim down and build beautiful, supple muscles, we recommend joining Idolem.
The yoga classes are hot – they take place in a heated room and are sometimes followed by a cold bath or tea. It’s good for the abs, and there are several intensities (solar or lunar, and over 5) for neophytes and accomplished yogis alike.
Idolem has over 30 studios, including 11 on the island of Montreal.
