The leaves are raining from the trees onto the streets of Montreal. We’ve lost ten degrees since last weekend, the October supermoon has brought the first frosts, and the countryside is slowly dying in anticipation of winter.
We’ll be celebrating the harvest with gratitude and loved ones for Thanksgiving, putting on masks and going out dancing for Halloween, – and then what?
Afterwards, November arrives in Montreal with its cloak of shadows and ever-longer nights, and we huddle in our apartments and down jackets.
To celebrate the natural cycle of life and death with absolute luxury and a transcendental dinner experience, we recommend a ticket to La Vie, la Mort, le Dessert at the Société des Arts Technologiques.
SAT, art, gastronomy
Between November 5 and 15, 2025, the Society for Arts and Technology is offering immersive five-course culinary evenings on the theme of the cycle of life – life, death, rebirth.
The experience will include five gourmet courses designed by chef Clément Boivin (Cuisine Libre!), known for his local and forest cuisine, accompanied by artistic performances and immersive scenography projected under the SAT’s cult dome.
The experience was created by Nicolas Fonseca (Mr Jaune), Thomas Payette(Mirari) and Michel D.T. Lam(FIG55) and promises images and tastes that will send “nature into overdrive”.
Part fairy tale, part semi-morbid transcendence and part sensory forest walk, the banquet-style dinner and performance will have us loving the coldest autumn nights.
It’s also the kind of date that’s a little spooky, for our foodie crush and our crush who performs witchcraft rituals in the forest under a full moon…
