It’s been a long, hot summer, and many of our friends have returned with a large stone attached to the base of their ring finger – a diamond for the purists, a 1930s emerald for the it girls, a semi-precious stone mounted on a gigantic silver ring for those engaged during fashion week.
This, of course, gives us an exceptional excuse to throw a party – a Bachelorette Party. Montreal, with its cocktails, art centers and boozy brunches , is the perfect city to celebrate the girlfriend who’s getting married in style…
We have a few recommendations!
1.invitations, creations and aesthetics
A wedding is an exceptional moment that we want to remember for the rest of our lives – but it’s true that when we see some of the photo dumps from our friends’ weddings, all those precious days look pretty much the same.
The Bachelorette can be a moment of collective personalization (with our more artistic friends) of a wedding’s grand celebration , and a way to start creating memories that take the form of objets d’art.
And what’s more, you can drink as much wine as you like while you’re at it-because it gets the creative juices flowing…
Handmade silver jewelry that lasts a lifetime
To create silver rings to last a lifetime, or perhaps charms for a bracelet or necklace, we go to the Silver Studio. You can book the whole studio for a Bachelorette, and drink tea while sculpting 999 silver clay.

Artifacts
Instead of buying a Thermomix or a Sable cutlery set for the newlyweds, we can create (useless, it’s better) treasures that our friend can keep for the rest of her life and pass on to her children and grandchildren.
Take inspiration from Damien Hirst’s Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable exhibition, where he created sculptures and a narrative about a treasure recovered from a legendary shipwreck…
We book a ceramics workshop at Studio Commons; vases, wall-hanging art, candle holders… We make generational treasures that will last a lifetime and become mythical. If you like the result, the bride can use them as centerpieces at the reception too.

Hand-made invitations and invitations
For artist Bachelorette Parties and diy girlies, we recommend a trip to Nota Bene stationery store to raid its shelves of stationery and envelopes, and hand-write the place cards for the reception tables, the wedding invitations, the “vive les mariés” posters to decorate the supper room…
And we write love letters to each other, because it’s also a chance to say we love each other as friends!

2.relaxation, beauty, cocktails
Our lives as urban hot girls go fast, fast, fast, and the chaos of jobs, kids, traffic on Papineau and whirlwind weekends often prevent us from indulging in the luxury of a moment of self-care that’s totally fun – and with a big princess glitter polish on our feet at the end.
A day at the spa
A 1-hour drive from Montreal, our favorite spa sits on a mountainside, on the edge of a lake. It’s Bromont’s Balnea, and it’s $55 for half a day-that’s just enough time to work up a sweat in all the spa’s saunas overlooking the lake, and have a drink with a charcuterie board by the fire afterwards…

Cocktails
For an evening of cocktails in a dark, chic bar, to indulge in espresso martinis and tell each other our most scandalous stories, we go to Romies, Bowie’ s (if it’s private) or Big In Japan. For dancing afterwards, we go to StillLife.

Because a secret, an occult experience, something sexy that makes us blush when we think about it, that’s the little extra of a successful Bachelorette Party.
Tarot
For a cosmic Bachelorette, drop by Moonbrew Magic to have your tarot read by Shehla, the witch who opened this magical café with her husband Val. We open our third eye and share a window of knowledge into the future.
We drink a sage latte and buy candles and oils for a group ritual before going for cocktails…

Pole Dance
Let’s book ourselves a pole dancing class, to dance sexy together and because there’s nothing more “Bachelorette” than a pole turn with a bridal veil…
You can book a private lesson for your Bachelorette party directly with Milan Pole Dance.

Semi-ephemeral objects
During the Bachelorette party, we’re going to want to take lots of photos, but to transform our camera roll into a semi-ephemeral physical object to be treasured to honor the evening, we recommend taking photos in analog.
Instant Kodaks, Polaroids, film cameras, camcorders-we find the film nerd in our life and borrow their camera…
Congratulations to the engaged Montrealers!
