Transcendence/ feminine noun (from transcendent)
Existence of the ends of the subject outside the subject itself; character of a cause that acts on something different from it, superior to it. – Larousse
September 22 marks the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere, which means that night and day will last the same amount of time, each lasting 12 hours during the day.
5 days later, Montreal’s SAT (Société des Arts Technologiques) will host the iconic MAKING TIME festival – and we’ll be dancing the night away!
On September 27, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (not exactly for 12 hours, but for a solid 8), 12 artists will rock the three floors of the SAT…
MAKING TIME XXV
MAKING TIME is an electronic music festival that turns 25 this year. In its early days, Dave P organized transcendental electronic music concerts in Philadelphia.
The festival, which comes in many forms, brings back “transcendental” and “futuristic” sound by mixingold-school American electro with famous DJs, new artists and a vibe that offers a “sonic experience”-not just a party or a concert.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this experimental festival, Dave P chose Montreal and the SAT for MAKING TIME XXV , teaming up with the program director of the Société des Arts Technologiques, Alexandre Auché, for a transcendental anniversary all-nighter.

Programming for the all-nighter…
The SAT is a three-storey space for immersive artistic and musical creation and experiences, under a “fulldome” dome where images, films and digital works are projected – like the one in Vegas, but more niche.
On the night of September 27, for the MAKING TIME XXV festival, 12 artists will take over the building’s floors…
“Maria Somerville (live), DJ Python, James K (live), Djrum, aya (live) and Dave P will take over the first floor. SHERELLE, Honeydrip (live) and Zillas on Acid will play in the dome, and a new lounge area will be opened for the occasion on the second floor, with CPR Annie, URA and Myfanwy.” – Society for Technological Arts
We promise an electronic-techno “shoegaze” sound, a spellbinding atmosphere and music to dance to…all night long.
