Today is the first day of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This year, for the 23rd edition of the competition, the 48 participating countries will play their matches in three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Unfortunately, Montreal isn’t hosting any matches this year, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be following FIFA and the Canadian team’s matches very closely.
The first match is tonight, Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 3 p.m.—it will pit Mexico against South Africa. The Canadian team’s first match is tomorrow, Friday, June 12, 2026, at 3 p.m.—against the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.

At the Dispensaire Microbrewery
All FIFA matches will be shown on outdoor screens at the microbrewery, and it’s set to become a hotspot for soccer fans (or “football” fans, depending on your preference) and for those who love soccer fans through the end of July.

In the Latin Quarter, FIFA soccer matches will be shown in local sports bars and restaurants, so you can grab dinner and catch the games.
