In 2025, we lost one of the greatest and sweetest directors in the history of cinema – David Lynch. We know him for Eraserhead, Wild at Heart, Mulholland Drive… But above all, Lynch is adored by all those who grew up in a small town that was a little strange for the Twin Peaks series (1990-1991).
The director’s latest project was a third season of the cult series, in 2017. For the first time in Montreal, this season of the series will play in cinemas in its entirety during the month of January.
Back to the dream
After a retrospective cycle entitled Dans Nos Rêves (In Our Dreams ) of the director’s work in March-April 2025, the Cinéma du Parc will present his latest project – the continuation of his most popular work, the Twin Peaks series.
The first two seasons, conceived by David Lynch and Mark Frost, follow the arrival of an FBI agent in the small town of Twin Peaks after the body of murdered prom queen Laura Palmer is found there. What follows is an investigation that oscillates between dreams, horrors and the mysterious charm of small-town life: the series is a UFO that still fascinates those who discover it.
The third season, Twin Peaks: the Return , features the same characters and the same mysterious atmosphere. Cinéma du Parc will be screening all 18 episodes of this season, plus two episodes from Twin Peaks season 2to introduce newcomers to the series’ pie-and-horror universe.
