The air is crisp and the mornings are misty in Montreal, and summer is almost over—next week, on September 23, 2026, is the equinox and officially the start of fall.
To celebrate the “spooky season,” we’re going on a nostalgic trip to a store that’s like a mini-Hogwarts for kids, HARRY POTTER fans, and anyone who wants to get into the Halloween spirit.
The Sorcière & Magie store is in Drummondville, a very cute little town about a 55-minute drive from downtown Montreal. You can also get there by train with VIARAIL for a slightly modern take on arriving at Hogwarts—the trip takes just under an hour.

WIZARDS, WITCHES, AND NEXT YEAR’S SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT HOGWARTS
The Sorcière & Magie store is decorated as if it were part of Diagon Alley…
Almost ten years after the release of the last movie inspired by the HARRY POTTER book series, an HBO series will adapt all six books of the original series—the highly anticipated Season 1 will premiere this holiday season.

HARRY POTTER, whose books were written by the highly controversial J.K. Rowling, is eagerly anticipated despite the author’s transphobic remarks—the studio and the series’ writers have decided to pay homage to the source material while setting aside Rowling’s hateful views.
Ever since the series was announced, there’s been a renewed craze for HARRY POTTER, for the magic of the early films, and for the world of the books and movies. While waiting for the HBO series to premiere, we recommend a visit to Sorcière & Magie and its sections dedicated to striped scarves in the colors of the Hogwarts houses, magic wands, and merchandise.

You can also buy “Chocofrogs”—which, thankfully, don’t jump out when you open the package. And for little wizards who need a drink before heading back to Montreal, the shop also has a secret café— the “Room Under the Stairs.” There, you can sip on a forbidden potion or some goblin juice, and it’s open every day except Monday, starting September 21, 2026.
