Halloween is a chance to scare yourself, eat too much sugar, and get your heart racing a little faster. Ghosts, horror movies, gallons and gallons of blood, and costumes to become someone else —it’s the season of transformation, masks, and candy.
But it’s also a season to experience, in a very romantic way, a sweet nostalgia that evokes the mist and chocolate pumpkins wrapped in colorful paper. On the list of movies we’ll be watching during the long afternoons of October weekends, there are plenty of “classics” that are as comforting as a hug from your parents after an evening of trick-or-treating: HALLOWEEN, HOCUS POCUS, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, PRACTICAL MAGIC.
The pinnacle of our Halloween nostalgia comes through music and the most romantic activity of all—rollerblading—at the SAT on Sunday, October 25. We’re absolutely ready to do the “Monster Mash” on our inline skates, and if not, to wave our arms around like zombies just to keep our balance—pretending it’s all part of the theme.

MONTREAL’S BIGGEST “ROLLER DANCE” PARTY
The Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] is at the heart of Montreal’s most digital, most “rave,” and most cyberpunk scenes. It’s a place of the impossible, whether under its dome or on its rooftop, and there’s always something new to discover there. We couldn’t imagine a better place to go and learn how to rollerblade to a “spooky” playlist.
The party is divided into two sessions, and—of course—it’s a costume party. We’ll be able to rent skates, take a class with Marilyn Basbous from SKATE WITH MARLY, and glide to the beats of DJ Fly Lady Di.
