For the past 10 years, Malefycia hasn’t been messing around when it comes to Halloween. These aren’t just pumpkins with little lights inside, or a witch cackling under a big pointy hat—Malefycia’s haunted tours are an exercise in terror.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of this highly terrifying and theatrical “haunted house,” and to celebrate, Malefycia has chosen the most terrifying of themes: clowns.
From October 2 to 31, 2026, there will be 12 evenings of performances featuring various levels of terror, a headset that monitors participants’ vital signs, and plenty of opportunities to be scared out of your wits.

“C10WN”
Malefycia is more than just a haunted house—it’s an immersive experience in its simplest and most terrifying form. The fear of clowns is called “coulrophobia,” and we’re a little bit afraid of them. The experience is described several times as “festive,” and it sends shivers down our spines.
The “C10WN” haunted tour is divided into ten scenes, which remain a secret until the very last moment—obviously—but which promise “psychological drama, aesthetic gore, theatrical performance, and social critique” (Malefycia).
At Malefycia, “immersive” also means “participatory,” and audience members must be prepared to be at the center of the story. Without having been there, we imagine “C10WN” as a sort of SLEEP NO MORE—but very, very terrifying.
This year, spectators will have the option to choose their level of interaction with the actors—wearing a red nose to show they’re not afraid of anything, or an “immunity collar” (which does make you look a bit of a coward, though) to indicate they don’t want to be directly approached by the clowns.
And, for an extra dose of anxiety, there’s a headset that measures your emotions as you go through the experience, tracking your strongest reactions: your heart racing, a spike in body temperature, blood rushing to your feet, your stomach churning…
