Maison Canis, the T-shirt and accessory brand for Montrealers who love their dogs, has created a map to help you take your pup out all over Montreal.
Because we want to bring our dog to a café, walk with him indoors and outdoors, go shopping with him, put him in a little basket at the supermarket. We’d like to do nothing without our dogs.
And in Montreal, there are plenty of “dog-friendly” places—but you have to stumble upon them, come across them while out for a walk, or hear about them from friends of friends who have a codependent relationship with their poodle.
And getting turned away from a café or restaurant because you have a dog can be just as traumatic as getting turned away from Berghain after spending an hour squeezing into a latex tube top .
Fortunately, we have the “dog card” from Maison Canis to take our dog everywhere in the city.
The Montreal Dog Map by Maison Canis
The Maison Canis brand makes T-shirts and posters illustrated by Montreal artists featuring dogs strolling through the city’s neighborhoods, going out for tea, or sunbathing at the beach.

To complement their Club Canis collection, which features dogs in the Verdun, Rosemont, Mile End, and Plateau neighborhoods, the brand also highlights the “dog-friendly” spots in these areas.
On the Montreal Dog Map, you’ll find:
- dog parks
- cafés that allow dogs
- restaurants that allow dogs
- vets
- groomers
- pet stores
- dog trainers and schools to train dogs
