To gently ward off our seasonal blues—spring isn’t here just yet— Galerie FOIL is hosting a tea-themed weekend. In a city of concrete, slush, and howling winds, spending two days drinking tea feels almost like an act of resistance.
Tea and Music
This edition of the FOIL -IN:FUSION- Gallery’s tea/music weekends focuses on Japanese teas, and to mark the occasion, the gallery has invited the New York-based tea company Kettl to set up shop in the space for two days.
Kettl, known for its Japanese teas and close ties with small producers, will take over the café at Galerie FOIL and offer an unlimited tea tasting.
To accompany the tea, artist Security Wing will provide ambient music, and in FOIL’s “listening room,” visitors can enjoy both together.
Matcha Workshop

Matcha is a Japanese powdered green tea that is extremely rich in antioxidants and L-theanine, a mild anxiolytic. In recent years, the West has embraced it with a consuming passion. Sometimes, a bit haphazardly, too.
Tea is sacred. For an introductory course on the matcha ceremony, Galerie FOIL and Kettl are organizing a 90-minute workshop on Saturday, March 28, 2026. On the agenda:
- a history lesson on the origins of matcha in Japan
- traditional tools and techniques for preparing matcha
- the art of whisking matcha—here, the workshop will be hands-on
