Sometimes, we’d love to have the best of both worlds: living downtown, but with a big backyard to grow lettuce, raise a few chickens, lie down in the warm grass in the summer after the rain, and go on Easter egg hunts with the kids and family.
During the long Easter weekend, most Montrealers—and we’re no exception—prefer to sip coffee on their concrete balconies (which gets nice and warm in the sun—we’re not complaining too much) and water the herbs in large stoneware pots, soaking up the sun’s rays at an angle—and it’s great, but it’s a bit tricky when it comes to hiding and/or hunting for eggs.
Fortunately, the Easter Bunny has been all over Montreal.
On the farm… the egg hunt at Ferme Sainte-Élie

At the library…

Children ages 0 to 12 can go on an egg hunt with Carlos the Capybara (a cousin of the Easter Bunny). In addition to chicken eggs, the kids will be able to recognize and identify the eggs of other egg-laying animals—and eat chocolate at the end.
