Whether we celebrate Easter or not, it’s officially chocolate bunny season… The rabbit (or hare), in almost all Eurocentric and Celtic pagan cultures, is a representative of spring; a symbol of the earth’s fertility, of renewal.
The march hares of old Europe are the hares that, in spring, “dance” in the fields during the mating season. In Asian cultures, the rabbit is associated with the moon and good luck. In the modern world, it’s the one most represented by chocolatiers during the spring-Easter season.
