After a prolonged absence from the stage due to illness, the legendary Céline Dion appeared in a white dress atop the Eiffel Tower in the pouring rain during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the midst of a ceremony partially marred by torrential rain that darkened the city and soaked those who had decided to watch the show live, Céline appeared like an angelic figure with a voice from another world.
She sang “Hymne à l’Amour,” Édith Piaf’s song about infinite love.
And for this performance, which even stopped the rain from falling on the French capital, Céline Dion was dressed in Dior.
From May 15 to September 7, 2026, the Dior Haute Couture gown worn by Céline will be on display at the McCord Stewart Museum in Montreal in the exhibition Céline in Dior: A Dazzling Moment.
Céline Dion, Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Churi
As Céline Dion announced her return to the stage in Paris this year, the sequined Christian Dior Haute Couture gown she wore during the Olympic Games performance is making its North American debut.

The McCord Stewart Museum collaborated with the House of Dior to present this dress, which required over a thousand hours of work and was designed by Maria Grazia Churi. The designer, who will lead the House of Dior until 2025, created the dress under the Christian Dior Haute Couture label.
The dress will be displayed at the museum as part of a presentation of Céline Dion’s iconic performance on the Eiffel Tower, with set design by Pierre-Étienne Locas.
