It’s a little early to start thinking about the holiday season -especially since we haven’t even gotten past Halloween yet- but when we have such heart-warming news, we share it. Late autumn is going to be cold and wet, but it’s also the start of the season of caring, hot chocolate and family celebrations.
For 27 years, Canadian Pacific Railway has been taking its Holiday Train across Canada and the U.S. to bring concerts, wonder and holiday spirit to children – and to raise money for local food banks. Because holiday spirit is the perfect excuse to be generous.
We’ve got the train itinerary…
Collecting donations for local food banks
Holiday Train stops are a kind of free open-air concert, but donations – in food or cash – for local food banks are strongly encouraged.
Vegetables, bread, rice and seasonal classics come to mind, because food aid recipients are also entitled to cranberries, squash and roast turkey.
Before the Train passes through Montreal, the food banks that will be present will be announced, and it’ s a good idea to drop by their websites to check out the foodstuffs they need most.
