The immense joy of staying too long at the table, lingering over one last strawberry, having one “last” cup of coffee, making plans for the evening or next week, is a joy very often associated with the large fruit platters, eggs and bacon of a brunch restaurant. And if the brunch is all-you-can-eat, even better!
Here are a few of our favorites for a brunch buffet in Montreal…
1. old-school glam: Pavillon 67
Located in the Casino de Montréal, Pavillon 67 is the city’s most glamorous brunch spot. The view and 50s decor make you want to go there with a bow tie and a pair of very, very high stilettos…
Reservations can be made for groups, so it’s the perfect brunch for large families and gatherings of long-lost friends!
Guests are welcome to help themselves to food in the kitchen, yes chef!
When? Sundays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where? Casino de Montréal, 1 Avenue du Casino
How much? $45/person
2 The French Touch: Maison Boulud
If you’re in the mood for a real treat, head for Maison Boulud, located in the Ritz-Carlton. At the Ritz, the “brunch buffet” is the “Le Petit Déjeuner du Ritz” formula.
It’s earlier than our classic North American brunch, but it’s a European way to start the day – and after five croissants, as many Mimosas and blueberry-covered mini-sausages, you’ll need to take a loooong walk around Montreal.
And if not, there ‘ s also a Brunch starter-main course menu ($65) or starter-main course-dessert menu ($75) every Saturday and Sunday between noon and 2pm.
When? Saturdays and Sundays between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Where? Ritz-Carlton, Maison Boulud, 1228 Sherbrooke St. W.
How much? $58/person
3. farm-to-table: Brasseurs du Monde
For those who wish they’d spent the weekend in the country, but want a relaxing brunch in jeans and gougounes, Brasseurs du Monde is the place to go.
The restaurant’s all-you-can-eat brunch is farm-to-table , where you drink a local beer with…eggs, parsnip pancakes, cretons, garlic potatoes…
There are two all-you-can-eat brunches; one carnivorous and one vegan.
When? Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where? 1567 rue Saint-Denis or 6700 Boulevard Saint-Laurent
How much? $35/person, and $5 for children
4. anything-goes: Lloyd
For those with a little jet-lag, and for those who can never decide what they’re in the mood for when a menu is shoved in front of them, this is the perfect buffet.
There are eggs, bagels, pasta, meat, cakes and to accompany the classic Mimosas, there are pitchers of special brunches cocktails.
When? Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where? 1050 de la Gauchetière West
How much? $49/person, and $25 for children aged 4 to 12; younger children eat for free.
Enjoy your brunch!
