In European folklore, beer and hops are medicinal ingredients—almost magical. Vitamin B, relaxing effects on the nervous system, glowing skin… In Prague, intraditional beer spas, people have been bathing in beer for over a hundred years to become more beautiful and happier. And, as all fashions repeat themselves in cycles, in recent years beer spas have been gaining popularity andbeer spas are openingall over the world. And, of course, there is one in Montreal.
Montreal is a city known for its thousand microbreweries—and its residents are very fond of beer in all its forms. After consuming it in the form of bread,draft, colorful cans, and every possible flavor, you can now bathe in it like a fountain of youth.
Les Bains Ninkasi opened at the end of December 2025 in downtown Montreal, and we recommend visiting as soon as possible for a beer and a bath.

Les Bains Ninkasi
Les Bains Ninkasi describes its spa as an “epicurean experience.“ Epicurus, the Greek philosopher who gave his name to the trend of radical materialistic pleasure, would probably have loved to bathe in beer—although in ancient Greece, people may have bathed in wine instead.
Here, brewer’s yeast, hops, malt, and clay are used for a thermal circuit—with a bath and beer pairing.
@bainsninkasi
First, there is a 39°C bath infused with hops, malt, and brewer’s yeast. The bath is accompanied by a moment of relaxation on a straw bed and a beer tasting.
The sauna is hopped, calming the nervous system and softening the skin. The experience smells like beer, and Bains Ninkasi has the simple, pleasant wood-and-stone architecture of Montreal’s most beautiful traditional spas.
