It’s no surprise that artists have established one of the region’s most charming art centers there.
THE SUTTON ARTS CENTER
The Sutton Arts Center—affectionately known as “Arts Sutton” by those who hold it dear—is a community of nearly 300 members (artists, patrons, and art lovers) that organizes gatherings, exhibitions, and provides a space dedicated to the arts and artists.
Arts Sutton was founded in 1980 by local artists and was recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Culture in 1986. Since then, art has been thriving at this beautiful arts center, which is well worth a visit to see the region through its most poetic eyes.

After a visit to the Arts Center, we recommend taking a stroll along the “Witches’ Cauldrons” trail—a series of natural pools carved into the rock by the river—atSutton Natural Environment Park.

And, during our walks, we also find ourselves longing for a return to the school field trips to the farm from our childhood—to the gentle goats, the mud, and the noisy chicken coops.
The Holy Grail of soft-furred animals (the ones that scared us when we were little) is the alpaca—and, of course, an alpaca farm in one of the most beautiful spots in Quebec.
