Tomorrow, Tuesday April 8, is Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s, and in Montreal you can pick up a free ice cream cone in one of the iconic ice cream parlors…
Will it rain? It might. But will that stop us from getting a free cone? Absolutely not!
Free Cone Day
Once a year, Ben & Jerry’s celebrates Free Cone Day, for the simple pleasure of returning the love and indulging ourselves – and we know what that’s going to say, that it’s marketing and so on, but we happily accept our free ice cream.
There really is nothing better than ice cream, and when it’s free, it’s even better!
Ben & Jerry’s first Free Cone Day was in 1979, their first year after founding the ice cream brand – in Vermont, where their first creamery was located.
Since then, Free Cone Day has spread with the expansion of Ben & Jerry’s ice creams and, in 2000, all its dealers celebrated by distributing free cones around the world. In 2015, 1 million cones were distributed…
By 2025, we imagine that with inflation, it will be a few million more? In any case, we’ll be there?
A little planning
We’re expecting a bit of a line-up, of course, because there are only Ben & Jerry’s creameries in Montreal – both of which are participating in Free Cone Day:
- 1200 McGill
- 433 Place Jacques-Cartier
They’re pretty central, the first in downtown and the second in Old Montreal.
To help you plan your cone, and choose your flavor in advance, we’ve provided a list of those available at Ben & Jerry’s creameries in Montreal.
