The trees will bloom and the rain will make the grass grow in the region’s hills, and of course we have a mad urge to leave the city as soon as possible and go for a walk under the canopy of spring buds.
Unfortunately, not everyone has a car (or access to a friend’s car) for the weekend or for the day.
Fortunately, the local bus company Limocar runs round-trip service between Bromont and Montreal. The bus leaves from the Montreal Bus Terminal, and two hours later, you’re out in the countryside… Tickets are around $30.
Bromont, Eastern Townships
Bromont is a town nestled among beautiful hills and is best known for its ski mountain—where you can ski—and night skiing—all winter long. But in the spring, it’s a great starting point for a weekend in the great outdoors.
A spa – Balnea

Our favorite spa is nestled on a mountainside, right on the edge of a lake. It’s Balnea de Bromont, and it’s $55 for a half-day—just enough time to sweat it out in all the spa’s saunas with a view of the lake and then enjoy a drink with a charcuterie board by the fire afterward…

A stroll—at the Lac Gale Nature Reserve
To feel the softness of the wet earth beneath our feet, we’re going for a walk at the Domaine Naturel du Lac Gale.

It’s a very well-preserved nature reserve with 103 hectares of forest, trails, and a beautiful lake worth visiting.
Where? 201 Chem. du Lac Gale, Bromont
A coffee – at Caféine & Co
For lunch, a coffee, or to bring a bouquet of flowers home—because the flowers are blooming slowly, slowly in the region and we’d rather not pick them from the fields—we stop by Caféine & Co.

The café-boutique serves matcha, coffee, and sandwiches just like our favorite neighborhood café, and you can go for a stroll through the town’s streets afterward.
