An hour and 20 minutes’ drive from Montreal, passing through the Laurentians, you can stop and ski on a really cute little mountain with a ski resort that is very popular with Montrealers who only have time to ski after dark.
It’s also a great resort for skiing with children, beginners, snowboarders who want to do tricks to impress their friends, and those who don’t like to drive too far…
Sommet Saint-Sauveur

Sommet Saint-Sauveur boasts the longest ski season in Quebec, and the season started very early this year—before the end of November 2025—but we’ll have to wait and see when it ends before we can say for sure that it will be the longest season in the region in the winter of 2025–2026.
The ski resort has 42 trails, 9 ski lifts, a ski school, and an alpine roller coaster that is unique in Quebec.

Night skiing and roller coasters
The sun still sets early —even though we’ve been gaining minutes of light and sunshine every day since the winter equinox— so, of course, Sommet Saint-Sauveur stays open after nightfall (which comes early). Skiing is available until 10:30 p.m., conditions permitting, for those who aren’t too cold, and starting at 8:30 a.m. in the morning.

Sommet Saint-Sauveur is one of the largest evening ski resorts in Quebec. In addition to lighted trails where you can kick up powder under the glow of LED lamps, you can also take a ride on an alpine roller coaster in a sound and light show themed around Vikings this year. The ride is calledL’Odyssée Viking: à la conquête de la nuit (The Viking Odyssey: Conquering the Night), andyou can reserve a ticket to ride here!
