For 10 days this November, Montreal becomes the world’s hub for Francophone cinema, and all Montrealers can enjoy the best of world cinema in French at Montreal’s most charming movie theaters.
November is going to be rainy, with fluctuating temperatures, and a bit gloomy, but when the city is dark and a little depressing, you can always count on the movies.

EVERYTHING WE’RE GOING TO SEE AT THE CINÉMANIA FESTIVAL
For the 32nd edition of the festival, 158 films from 30 countries will be screened. The festival is divided into several categories: Quebec films, short films, documentaries, “Faces of the Francophonie,” Francophone series, and special screenings.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet, the French director behind the cult classics *Delicatessen* (1991) and *Amélie* (2001), will also be in attendance for retrospective screenings and a masterclass on Thursday, November 5.
There’s a lot to see and a lot to do, and we recommend checking out the full program on the Cinémania website, but we have three favorites you absolutely must see during the festival.

PARADIS by Jérémy Comte
The festival’s opening film is making its Quebec premiere, and it’s the director’s first feature film following an Oscar-nominated short. It’s a film about connection and self-discovery, and we can’t wait to see it.
We’re going on Saturday, November 7, at 1:30 p.m., at the Cinéma Moderne.
