Montreal—and especially the Island of Montreal—is often compared to New York. There are “brownstones,” a large park right in the middle of the city, plenty of indie music, and cafés that are just a tad too expensive. But Montreal is really small.
And it is this mix of long-time Montrealers, international students, and immigrants that makes the city a community.
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, we’ll have the opportunity to give back to our community by donating blood at the blood drive at Montreal City Hall.

BLOOD DRIVE AT MONTREAL CITY HALL, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2026
Héma-Québec, the government agency responsible for blood donations and drives in the province, is partnering with the City of Montreal to organize this blood drive at City Hall.
This drive will provide a much-needed boost to Quebec’s hospitals, which are always in need of blood and blood products to care for Quebecers and Montrealers who need them most. The blood donated on November 4 will help patients with serious illnesses, people requiring surgery, accident victims, and newborns in need of specialized care.
A single blood donation can help save the lives of three people.
