Montreal has the charm of feeling vaguely like a vacation all summer long—even if you’re working full-time, even if the city isn’t really by the sea. But the river smells vaguely of the ocean in the Old Port, and seagulls circle the downtown skyscrapers. So, naturally, we’re desperately searching for the best spot to have a drink when the weather’s nice.
All summer long, you can enjoy a cocktail and the best sashimi in Montreal in front of the Leonard Cohen mural on the terrace of the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal.
Shellfish, crustaceans, and cocktails
Starting at 4 p.m. every day this summer, you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace of Marcus restaurant, on the third floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal. It was hot (very, very hot) for the opening night of this European-style aperitif, but on the terrace it was almost cool.
Plus, the hotel faces the sun in the late afternoon, so you can work on your tan after a day stuck in an office.

Summer cocktails are fresh, very delicate, and frankly thirst-quenching. You have to stay well-hydrated in the summer. To accompany the drinks, you can enjoy sashimi (served on a bed of ice), fries, jumbo shrimp, oysters, and caviar.
It’s the perfect after-work spot for summer—there’s music and jazz on Wednesday nights—and it’s also one of the nicest places to flirt with your crush this summer.
