We’re officially halfway through winter, Fred the Gaspé groundhog has seen his shadow and announced an early spring, the January storms and Blue Monday are over, and the weather is nice and cold. Everything is fine.
But winter isn’t over yet, and neither is our seasonal depression. To get through the last few months of the most emotionally and physically violent season of the year, we’re going to need a little light therapy…
Fortunately, the Montreal Festival of Lights arrives just in time for us to enjoy the last cold and dark days of the year.
Montréal En Lumière 2026
From February 27 to March 7, 2026, the Montreal En Lumière festival returns to downtown Montreal for its 27th edition.
This year’s program includes arts, music, gastronomy, outdoor activities for families (ordates), and the famous Nuit Blanche de Montréal.
Outdoor activities will include a skating trail , a DJ station stage, a Ferris wheel, a bistro run by the SAQ, a gourmet village, and dazzling light shows throughout the Quartier des Spectacles.
At the gourmet village and throughout Montreal, you can sample dishes from 80 restaurants, including Michelin-starred Rôtisserie La Lune and Casavant. What’s more, the restaurant where Justin Trudeau and Katie Perry had their famousdate willalso be there—Le Violon.

In addition to outdoor DJ sets, there will be indoor shows, including Feu:Chatterton and Disney On Ice.
