Last week, in the back room of La Buvette Beaubien, a group of very cool Montrealers dressed in earthy tones gathered to celebrate the launch of the MONTREAL SIGNATURE GUIDE, a practical yet poetic work by Montreal-based content creator and “it girl” Maristeve Mbikayi.
There were signature cocktails, it was drizzling outside (that warm, late-summer rain), and, like any true “it girl,” Maristeve gathered a group of very cool, incredibly talented, and wildly interesting people for the launch of her guide. WhatsApp groups were set up, get-togethers were organized to talk about art and community, photos were taken with everyone arm in arm, and everyone left as good friends—and deeply inspired.
This is the hallmark of Maristeve’s intuition and gentle nature—she wore a fitted black jacket and cherry-red pants—her content, like her guide, encourages us to live life and experience the city with romance, intention, and the very luxurious seriousness of people who know how to be happy.

THE SIGNATURE GUIDE TO MONTREAL
Maris’s guide isn’t just a directory. It’s a guide in every sense of the word, one she put together after going through a rough patch. It’s a true epicurean guide—about loving life, loving Montreal, meeting interesting (and sexy) people, and building a community in the most beautiful and inspiring setting.
The chapters of the guide read a bit like romantic therapy;
- WHERE TO FEED YOUR INTELLECTUAL CURIOSITY
- WHERE TO GO WHEN YOU WANT TO BE SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE
- WHERE TO GO WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE CREATING
- …
In addition to the best spots from a true Montreal “it girl,” each recommendation comes with a short explanatory text and tips on when to go and how to have the best time possible.
The guide is dedicated to:
