Let yourself be carried away by LUZIA, Cirque du Soleil’s spellbinding creation currently on stage at the Old Port of Montreal. Inspired by light (“luz” in Spanish) and rain (“lluvia”), this dreamlike show transports audiences to an imaginary Mexico where culture, nature and mythology mingle.
The adventure invites 10,000 liters of water on stage to paint a vivid and refreshing picture – a first in the Cirque du Soleil universe.
Breathtaking acrobatic performances
Acrobatics, visual surprises… all tell a story: that of an imaginary Mexico that’s unexpected and bursting with color.
LUZIA takes you on a journey through a multi-sensory universe where invented landscapes and faces blend with reality. A movie set forgotten in time, breathtaking beaches, a scorching desert and much more come to life before your astonished eyes. Tradition and modernity become one for a few minutes in the Old Port of Montreal.
A show powered by 10,000 liters of water
For the first time ever at Cirque du Soleil, LUZIA uses water during the show. Maintained at a constant temperature of 39°C, no less than 10,000 liters of water are continuously filtered and disinfected!
During the show, the water makes its way through 94,657 small orifices leading to a large basin hidden beneath the stage. And after the show, this water is recycled. City after city, performance after performance, it’s a technical feat surely as impressive as the show itself.
