By August 1, summer will be in full swing in Quebec. Deer flies will reign supreme, the Perseids will shower the sky with shooting stars, and the Sturgeon Moon will mark the first harvests. It’s also the season of Leo in the zodiac, and the month is ruled by the sun.
Of course, that’s going to make us want to go for a walk through a field of sunflowers…To do so, you can visit a very pretty farm just a one-hour drive from downtown Montreal, starting August 20, 2026.
And starting July 17, 2026, the Belle farm in Coteau-du-Lac will open its fields for a “Festifleurs” event featuring floral sculptures and pick-your-own wildflowers and strawberries—so you can bring a bouquet back to the city and some fruit for Sunday afternoon pies.
Flowers, fruits, profile pictures
Since 2018, the Belle de Coteau-du-Lac farm has been opening its doors and fields to visitors during the summer months. First with theFestifleur inJuly, then with its sunflowers in August, and also with a corn maze andspookyeveningsforHalloween.
The farm has createda real fairy-tale garden in its fields, featuring a flower-filled village that’s a favorite among kids and influencers. There’s a staircase covered in roses (for those who got engaged this year), a heart-shaped tunnel (for those who want to get engaged within the year), and a piano in the middle of the field (for those who want to show off).
You can also spend an evening there enjoying a “campfire” with a cozy fire, delicious s’mores, and the scent of sun-warmed flowers all around. It’s incredibly sweet and nostalgic—and a little cooler than picking flowers in the midday heat.
It’s the perfect place to bring your crush who just bought a Canon, your friends who love pretending they’re in *Little House on the Prairie*, your kids, and your friends—herbalists who interpret the language of flowers.
