Even though it was very cold this winter, and dark all the time, and we had our ups and downs and that crazy urge to go to the movies every Sunday, we weren’t able to see all the Quebec films that came out this year (and the year before, and the year before that).
To make up for it this summer, we’re going to spend our Friday nights under the stars at Radio Canada’s free “Ciné dans l’Parc.” It’s a walk-in, not a drive-in, but you still get that Stephen King-style proto-nostalgia for summer (without the disasters, of course). It makes you want to buy a joystick camera.

In Montreal, we have a romantic vision of summer, shaped by soft-serve ice cream, fireflies, and outdoor movie theaters…
In addition to open-air movie screenings in parks this summer, neighborhood movie nights organized by neighbors, and long evenings on the balcony with friends dissecting newly released films, we can enjoythe ultimate summer movie experience: thedrive-in cinema—or “ciné-parc.”
At Maison Radio Canada, the experience takes place right in the heart of the city and is 100% Quebecois. On the program: the great classics *Les Boys*, *À vos marques… Party*, and *Dans une galaxie près de chez vous* —to educate our French crushes on Quebec culture.
And to catch up on movies we’ve missed in theaters over the past few years, there will also be *Mille Secrets Mille Dangers*, *Phénix*, and *Les Furies*.
Practical Information
Where? Maison de Radio-CanadaPark / at the corner of Alexandre-DeSève and René-Lévesque streets, at 1000 Papineau Ave. (Papineau metro station)
When? Every Friday night, July 10 through August 14, 2026 / the venue opens around 8 p.m., and the screening starts at 9 p.m. (at dusk)
What? Admission is free, but we recommend not arriving too late anyway.
*In case of rain, the screening will be moved indoors to the Maison Radio-Canada, in Studio C
