Montreal has plenty – too many, perhaps – of cafés. There are the big cafés with velvet sofas and stainless steel cups, the little cafés with bamboo stools and ceramic cups that you can buy afterwards, the cafés where the chairs squeak, the cafés that are a bit of a restau because the sandwiches are $30. You can drink a matcha with the nitro-foam every 800 meters.
But what always seems to be lacking in Montreal are cafés where you can bring your laptop to work.
Fortunately, there are 3 where working on your computer is almost more pleasant than working from the chalet…
1.Café OSMO x Marusan

For those who don’t like working in silence, we recommend the OSMO x Marusan café. There’s always an excellent playlist, plenty of students doing their group work at the last minute and purists staring into space while eating a sando.
There’s free WiFi, you can work on your computer and for a meeting (not too serious) the big tables under the skylight are pretty perfect. In summer, you can even work on the terrace…
Where? Café OSMO x Marusan, 51 Sherbrooke St. W.
When? Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How? without reservation
2.Crew Collective & Café

For those writing a play or working on their PhD, we recommend Crew Collective. It’s one of Montreal’s finest cafés, right in the Old Port district and located in a beautiful building – the former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Canada.
The café has 100 seats, each equipped with an electrical outlet. What’s more, we can rent a banquette or conference table in another Crew area (to which members have access) for our more formal meetings.
Where? Crew Collective & Café, 360 rue Saint-Jacques
When? Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. / Sunday and Monday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
How to get there? Café – no reservation required / Workspace – day pass $20, afternoon pass $15, meeting room $45/hour
3.SavSav

For those who like to work like at home, but without accountability, and for those who like to think while looking out the window, we recommend SavSav.
In addition to the restaurant’s ultra-cool architecture, ultra-cool menu and ultra-cool music, it’s one of the most pleasant places to work because of its large windows that let in just enough sunshine.
Where? SavSav, 780 Brewster Avenue
When? Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekends 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
How? without reservation
Good job!
