To take the dog for a walk, collect fallen leaves, and get some fresh air this fall, we don’t want to go too far from Montreal. We absolutely don’t have time to spend every weekend at the cottage to see the fall colors, because we still haven’t found our Halloween costume and it’s starting to get stressful.
For a little dose of fall colors and fresh air this fall, let’s go for a walk (with the dog, if possible) at Bois de l’Équerre—and all we need is an OPUS card and a scarf—preferably a knitted one.

A WALK IN THE BOIS DE L’ÉQUERRE
The Bois de l’Équerre is one of Montrealers’ favorite forests for taking long walks with the dogs and playing in the fallen leaves with the kids. The trails are long but not too long, and it’s perfect for an afternoon outing or a morning stroll if the weather’s nice…
The ground is soft, golden leaves are falling like rain, and when the weather’s nice, we can stroll along the fairly short trails and go on a sort of treasure hunt to read nine legends on informational signs scattered throughout the woods. We’re really intrigued by the Witch’s Trap, the Rat Tails, and Éléonore the Envious…
