After setting up shop in the heart of the Maison du Festival, Art of Banksy Without Limits is catching the interest of Montrealers – and it’s easy to see why. The brand-new exhibition of 200 works, including 70 original pieces, has just opened its doors, paying tribute to the world’s most famous – and mysterious – street artist.
This paradox makes Banksy one of the most awarded artists of our generation: from the famous Dismaland park to the “Happy Choppers” and “Balloon Girl” graffiti, Banksy highlights the socio-political issues that influence our daily lives.
Banksy remains one of the few artists whose identity is unknown. And that, in 2024, is unheard of. His mysterious aura is compatible with his art, which is evident in works such as “Corrupted Oil Jerry” – where the iconic figure sets fire to a painting, representing a false utopia.
Art of Banksy Without Limits will tell you a little more about the artist and his works, each as revolting as the next. It’s also a new look at the work of the artist who answers our questions about Banksy.
