A brand new virtual realityadventure is coming to Montreal this summer.
Put on your headset, and you’ll be transported to Paris in 1874. The legendary Boulevard des Capucines is home to photographer Nadar’s studio, where key figures of the Impressionistmovement meet for the very first time . Monet, Renoir, Morisot, Cézanne, Pissarro, Degas… they were all there to present their works to the general public – outside an official salon.
The anticipation and enthusiasm of this very first exhibition invades the studio… An evening like no other on Boulevard des Capucines.
Get your tickets to experience an evening that changed the course of history!

Room by room, you’ll discover every nook and cranny of this evening steeped in history. 165 works of art are presented to you, some of which have become masterpieces in the art world. At the time, the Impressionist movement was provocative and daring. Many official salons refused to display the creations of Monet, Degas, Renoir and other icons of the movement.
So that evening on Boulevard des Capucines was much more than just a gathering – it was the beginning ofa new era in the art world. Thanks to ‘Un soir avec les Impressionnistes,’ it’s as if you too were in Nadar’s studio on the evening of April 15, 1874.

Virtual reality will take you far beyond the Boulevard des Capucines, to Frédéric Bazille ‘s studio , the “Salon de peinture et de sculpture,” the Île de la Grenouillère (where Monet and Renoir drew their inspiration), and Le Havre – the peaceful place where Monet created Impression, soleil levant.
It’s an experience not to be missed this summer.
