A unique adventure through history
Les Derniers Remparts takes you back to the dark days of the Inquisition in the Middle Ages. Created by the papacy, the Inquisition was tasked with seeking out, judging, and condemning individuals suspectedof heresy in Carcassonne.
Tired of enduring this injustice, the citizens appeal to their lord for protection. While awaiting his arrival, they join forces with Simon—a young lord from the North—to protect the city. It is into this atmosphere that Les Derniers Remparts plunges you, to defend the ramparts of Carcassonne and liberate its people.
Through the battle, you’ll discover the inhabitants’ doubts and hopes, unravel secrets, and defend justice…It’s a true adventure through history, sprinkled with fiction and emotion.
Throughout the adventure, you’ll come face to face with key figures from the royal administration. Seneschal Guy Chevrier, Constable Geoffroy de Varenne, Inquisitor Geoffroy d’Ablis, dissident Elie Patrice… The key figures of 14th-century Carcassonne come to life before your eyes. Other characters, perhaps less prominent but just as important—such as villagers, soldiers, and members of the clergy —are also part of the story.
