From July 24 to 27, the POCHA MTL Korean festival celebrates its fifth edition at Bassin Peel in Griffintown.
It’s the biggest Korean street market in Quebec, and one of the biggest gatherings of K-pop fans in the country. The atmosphere is sure to be one of canal-side fun – cool river breezes, smoking barbecues, K-pop music and a great cultural celebration of South Korea.

Street food and street market
One of the central elements of this 4-day celebration is Korean street food . Popularized by the internet, by the country’s opening to international visitors and by influencers who are fans of spicy, ultra-instagrammable kebabs, Korean cuisine is one of the most fashionable of the last ten years.
Whether you’re a connoisseur or a newcomer, you’ll be able to try the iconic tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes), Korean fried chicken and kogos (Korean pogos). There will be over 25 culinary kiosks… We recommend running beforehand, to make sure there’s room to eat everything!

In addition to the street food stalls, there will also be some 30 stalls selling our favorite Korean products: k-beauty cosmetics (the ones that make your skin look like glass), snacks, revisited traditional objects and streetwear.
K-pop gathering
POCHA is collaborating with Kmtl Event and KFMontréal(K-Pop Fandom Montreal), the beating heart of the city’s k-pop fandom, which currently boasts 17 different fandoms.
K-pop lovers will love the festival’s shows (where we’ll be encouraged to dance and sing along) and performances, and those who don’t know what it’s all about can just eat fried chicken while they dance…
