A true retrospective of the artist
The exhibition coming to Montreal begins with a journey through the life of M.C. Escher. From his Art Nouveau -inspired beginnings to his enchanting travels, the exhibition highlights the key moments of the artist’s career.
Each period and each landscape honed M.C. Escher’s talent for perspective and optical illusions. Some of these captivating works will be featured throughout the retrospective, such as “Up and Down” and “Relativity.”
Interactive exhibits
Unlike a traditional exhibition, the M.C. Escher exhibition invites you to become an integral part of the art.
Inthe Infinity Room, you’ll be surroundedby a multitude of mirrors, just like in M .C . Escher’s painting *Depth *. Then, the tour continues to the Relativity Room, where you’ll appear very small or very large—depending on where you stand. And to conclude this immersive experience, the interactive print gallery immerses you in the work *Galerie d’estampes*, where art and mathematics reign supreme.
It’s a true journey through the world of M.C. Escher that’s not to be missed.
A Night at the Museum…
What if the flagship exhibition were to transform into a one-of-a-kind evening for just one night? On August 20, M.C. Escher invites you to discover art in a whole new light. Accompanied by expert guides, you’ll uncover the hidden details of the works on display, before continuing the evening on the terrace at Le Cochon Dingue, where a DJ set awaits you starting at 6 p.m. An original way to unwind after an evening full of discoveries.
