Sunday, June 21, is Father’s Day in Canada, and we love our dads—and our father figures, our uncles, our grandfathers, our coaches.
With fathers, we never really know what to get them, and even in the city, they’re less of a focus for marketing yuppies than mothers are.
But, of course,we know how to celebrate them so they know just how important they are to us—and we don’t need an advertising campaign or the commercial frenzy of the country’s florists to spend a special day with them.
For foodie dads—we’re inviting them over for dinner

For flexible dads—a free hot yoga class at Idolem
Idolem hot yoga studio, known for its intense detox (sweat) classes and its dominance of the hot yoga scene in Montreal, is offering a class for dads in honor of their special day.
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, dads (and their guests) can attend a hot yoga class for free— but reservations are required, here.
This is for the laid-back dads, the ones who made us go on 7-hour hikes when we were little. It’s also for the dads in great shape, because we’re going to try not to overdo it for their special day either.
For dads who are always telling us to go play outside—a walk in the woods
For dads who can identify plants and birds, dads who wear shorts and Birkenstocks eight months of the year regardless of the weather, dads who took us camping all summer long when we were little. We know that all they want is for us to go for a walk outside together.
For them, not far from Montreal (accessible by public transit), we have three hikes through protected forests to breathe in the scent of the green leaves and identify a bird using its Latin name for Father’s Day.
For the art-loving dads—an exhibition
For the dads who dragged us to every museum in the city, for those who made us watch indie films and forced us to read Balzac and listen to Gould, we suggest an exhibition. Take your pick;
